Shri Gum Gurave Namah

The details of Swami Ji Maharaj's life are primarily based on estimates, as his exact birthplace and birthdate are unclear. The only well-known and verified event is his Nirvana, which occurred on June 3, 1979, at Mai's Ashram in Datia. On that day, after receiving treatment at a hospital in Mumbai, Swami Ji was given Samadhi (final resting place) in Datia.

According to estimates, Swami Ji was born in 1899 in Rampur village, near Ramnagar in Varanasi. His birth name was Mahavir Prasad. His father, Pandit Hari Prasad, was an astrologer who passed away early, and Swami Ji was raised by his mother. At the age of 15, he took Sannyas (renunciation) and traveled across India from 1914 to 1926.

In 1927, Swami Ji received initiation into Tantra Shastra from Swami Brahmanand Nath in Patti, Punjab. He was taught the Batuk Bhairav, Mahamrityunjay Mantra, and the Pitambara Mai Mantra. Following his Guru’s instructions, Swami Ji established the Pitambara Mai in Datia and dedicated himself to deep spiritual practice.

Swami Ji conducted several significant Tantric rituals, one of which was organized in 1962 for national defense. Key dates in his life include his arrival in Datia on July 9, 1929, the establishment of Pitambara Mai in 1934, the organization of Brahma Yajna in 1974, and the establishment of Dhumavati Mai in 1978. Swami Ji attained Mahasamadhi (final liberation) on June 3, 1979.
